Physical Security Systems Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems including cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and VMS
• Support access control systems such as badging, controllers, readers, and permissions
• Perform hardware replacements for cameras, readers, controllers, and cabling components
• Troubleshoot physical security system issues across network, hardware, operating system, and application layers
• Support Windows and Linux-based systems supporting physical security platforms
• Assist with storage systems used for video retention and evidence management
• Execute system testing and develop Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures
• Produce and maintain technical documentation including network diagrams and device inventories
• Work with vendors and integrators to ensure quality delivery
• Provide on-site and remote support across multiple locations throughout the United States

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with physical security systems (CCTV, access control)
• Experience installing and configuring cameras and access control hardware
• Experience with system testing, commissioning, or SAT validation activities
• Solid IT infrastructure knowledge including Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, DNS, DHCP)
• Windows and Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of storage technologies and capacity management
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%+ travel)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise VMS platforms
• Familiarity with enterprise access control systems
• Experience in data center, critical infrastructure, or enterprise environments
• Knowledge of low-voltage cabling standards
• Exposure to structured testing methodologies (SAT, UAT, commissioning)
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms
