Physical Education Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and administrative records
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher with individual students or small groups
• Help maintain, inventory, and care for physical education equipment
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including in the classroom, lunchroom, bus, and playground
• Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or assignments
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment and keep teachers informed of student special needs or problems
• Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree, Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 48 completed college hours
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
• Experience working with children
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and perform physical tasks such as standing, stooping, bending, and lifting
