About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automated tests to support production lines and ensure seamless integration.
- Provide essential test tools to the R&D team during prototype development phases.
- Partner with contract manufacturers to test beta prototypes, pre-production, and high-volume production units.
- Analyze production data to optimize test time and improve yields as production scales.
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for components, subsystems, and field failures.
- Facilitate the transition of new products from lab environments to high-volume production across diverse sites.
- Create and document fault isolation tools and troubleshooting guides to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Optical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Proficiency with optical and RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and attenuators.
- Minimum of 2 years in test automation software development using C#, Python, or Matlab.
- Strong statistical analysis skills applicable to production environments (e.g., CPk analysis, Pareto charts).
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in test engineering, including offshore production and debugging.
- Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
- Proficiency with the Atlassian suite of tools (Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Jira, Confluence).
- Fluency in oral and written French.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time outside of Canada.
