Photojournalist

Responsibilities

• Capture compelling video and audio elements for news, sports, features, and documentary-style stories.
• Operate ENG trucks or IP video-based live units (TVU) as assigned.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to complete daily news assignments.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas.
• Utilize creative production techniques, including graphics and new media, to enhance storytelling.
• Handle live, breaking news situations and changing events with composure.

Requirements

• BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a newsroom environment preferred.
• Proficiency in photojournalism, non-linear editing, and content management systems.
• Knowledge of EDIUS or other non-linear editing systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate news-gathering vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
• Flexibility to work a changing schedule and meet strict daily deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active membership and participation in the NPPA.
• Demonstrated news judgment and strong writing skills.
