Photojournalist

Responsibilities

• Capture compelling video and audio elements for news, sports, features, and documentary-style stories
• Operate ENG trucks or IP video-based live units (TVU) as assigned
• Work both independently and as part of a team on daily news assignments
• Attend editorial meetings to participate in discussions and suggest story ideas
• Utilize creative production techniques, including graphics and new media, to enhance storytelling
• Produce engaging content for television, social media, and mobile platforms

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a newsroom environment preferred
• Proven experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Knowledge of EDIUS or other non-linear editing systems
• Demonstrated news judgment, writing skills, and photography expertise
• Ability to handle live, breaking news situations and changing events calmly
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 80 lbs
• Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicles
• Flexibility to work a changing schedule and meet constant time pressure deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field
• Active membership and participation in the NPPA
