Photographer/Editor

Responsibilities

• Use the latest editing and photography tools, such as Edius, to tell compelling stories
• Produce original content for on-air, social media, and digital platforms
• Create engaging vertical video content for platforms like YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels
• Use creative production techniques, including graphics and new media, to enhance stories
• Contact sources and develop news stories covering breaking, sports, feature, and political news
• Attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas
• Edit and post video and text content for the station website
• Handle the physical demands of photojournalism and manage live, breaking news situations

Requirements

• BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle
• Experience in photojournalism, non-linear editing, and content management systems
• Demonstrated social media proficiency and news judgment
• Ability to work under constant time pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility to work a changing schedule and handle high-pressure environments

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of professional experience in a newsroom environment
• Knowledge of Cuez, Edius, and Axis graphics
