About the role
Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast and online platforms
- Collaborate with the Assignment Desk, reporters, and producers to cover daily stories
- Gather and edit video and still photography for digital platforms
- Execute live shots and ensure creative visions are met with vivid video and natural sound
- Coordinate and communicate incoming video elements from field crews
- Manage and organize video content using catalog systems
Requirements
- Proven experience with computer software and digital editing tools (Adobe Premiere preferred)
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
- Valid driver's license and a near-perfect driving record
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and under pressure
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Previous newsroom experience or equivalent military training (e.g., DINFOS) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sony XD Cam, GoPro, and mobile video capture
- Proficiency with ENG, SNG, TVU, and wireless data transmission
- Knowledge of Bitcentral, NBC, and CNN platforms
