About the role
Responsibilities
- Collect all types of laboratory specimens and reports according to protocols
- Administer oral solutions such as Glucola for glucose tolerance testing
- Ensure patient identification matches test request information
- Process specimens including labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, and freezing
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Process billing and insurance information
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Assist with storage of hazardous materials and inventory monitoring
- Perform non-patient facing duties including sanitization and filing
- Travel to additional sites when needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Ability to draw blood using sterile needles and vacutainer tubes
- Strong attention to detail and computer navigation skills
- Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical assistant or paramedic training
- Customer service experience
