Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Collect all types of laboratory specimens and reports according to protocols
• Administer oral solutions such as Glucola for glucose tolerance testing
• Ensure patient identification matches test request information
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, and freezing
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
• Process billing and insurance information
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Assist with storage of hazardous materials and inventory monitoring
• Perform non-patient facing duties including sanitization and filing
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience
• Ability to draw blood using sterile needles and vacutainer tubes
• Strong attention to detail and computer navigation skills
• Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical assistant or paramedic training
• Customer service experience
