Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood and urine specimens using established procedures
• Prepare, label, and document specimens for shipment and laboratory analysis
• Verify test requisitions and identify patients before specimen collection
• Maintain daily tallies of collections and track laboratory/office supplies
• Provide site-specific procedural training to new employees
• Follow Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations
• Travel to additional sites as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency
• Computer and technology proficiency
• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
