Philosophy Instructor

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality philosophy instruction that aligns with course objectives and institutional standards
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to support student learning
• Utilize diverse instructional strategies, including technology-enhanced learning and online learning management systems
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to promote academic growth
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and assessments
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
• Serve as an academic resource for students, offering guidance on coursework and study strategies

Requirements

• Must reside in the state of Ohio
• Master's degree in Philosophy or a master's degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Philosophy from a regionally accredited institution
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, and staff
• Proficiency in using email and online learning management systems
• Commitment to meeting students' learning needs and supporting their academic endeavors
• Successful completion of a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Philosophy or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution
• Previous teaching experience, including curriculum development and assessment experience
