About the role
Responsibilities
- Investigate whether individual human bioaerosol signatures can be detected and distinguished within shared, complex indoor spaces
- Integrate environmental aerosol sampling technologies with high-resolution chemical analysis
- Utilize AI-driven signal deconvolution to analyze biological datasets
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team across nanotechnology, material science, and AI disciplines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with honours equivalent to first class, or a Master's degree (AQF Level 9) with a significant research component
- Scientific background in nano/microtechnologies, environmental science, engineering, analytical chemistry, or biochemistry
- Evidence of a passion for discovery and innovative research
- Ability to work primarily at the Gold Coast campus with occasional requirements at the Brisbane South (Nathan) campus
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in biochemistry or environmental biotechnology
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies and their application to national interest projects
