About the role

Responsibilities

  • Undertake an ARC-funded research project focused on fluid mechanics, microfluidics, and micromachines
  • Develop innovative microfluidic techniques for the gentle and versatile processing of nanoparticles from body fluids and environmental extracts
  • Conduct self-directed research to establish a foundational understanding of the interplay between electric fields, fluid rheology, flow conditions, and particle properties
  • Collaborate with internal research groups and external partners, including the University of Queensland
  • Work toward the development of a proof-of-concept microfluidic platform technology

Requirements

  • First class honours degree or a Masters degree (AQF Level 9) with a significant research component
  • Strong research background in engineering or science
  • English language proficiency (minimum IELTS 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work proactively, collaboratively, and with an innovative mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or background in microfluidics, fluid dynamics, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or biomedical engineering
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research involving micro/nanoengineering, CFD, and biomedicine
