About the role

Responsibilities

  • Research the design, evaluation, and deployment of trustworthy agentic AI systems.
  • Develop new methods for autonomous, LLM-driven agents to reason and adapt under real-world uncertainty.
  • Build multi-agent architectures and design rigorous evaluation frameworks for agent behavior.
  • Validate methods on practical tasks including data preparation, retrieval, and decision support.
  • Collaborate with the supervisory team, the Responsible Big Data Lab, and academic or industry partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with first-class or second-class honours (Division A), or a Masters degree with a significant research component.
  • Strong analytical and programming skills.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to communicate research findings clearly in writing and presentations.
  • English language proficiency as per university requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A demonstrated passion for the responsible, real-world application of artificial intelligence.
  • Experience or strong interest in agentic AI systems and the evaluation of intelligent autonomous systems.
