About the role
Responsibilities
- Research AI processor architectures for edge applications in robotics, automotive (ADAS), and industrial automation
- Contribute to the development of heterogeneous accelerator architectures
- Work on the co-design of hardware, software, and tools for real-time, safety-critical systems
- Explore domain-specific compiler and runtime support for physical AI workloads
- Integrate sensor fusion and perception algorithms into custom accelerators
- Collaborate with PhD-level engineers, Technical Directors, and NXP Fellows
Requirements
- Currently enrolled PhD student in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Enrolled in a university that supports PhD internships
- Strong interest in real-time systems, embedded AI, and heterogeneous computing
- Experience with hardware design (e.g., RTL, HLS, FPGA, ASIC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI workloads in physical or embedded systems
