Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and departmental duties.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions accurately.
• Engage with customers and patients to provide a delightful experience, resolving issues and answering questions.
• Manage pharmacy operations including inventory management, ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
• Handle clerical duties such as processing manual claims for third-party prescription services and managing telephone calls.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly pharmacy environment and ensure adequate stock of supplies.
• Participate in the "earn while you learn" apprenticeship program to work towards PTCB certification.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to complete the Walgreens apprenticeship and PTCB training program.
• Commitment to following all state, federal, and company pharmacy regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a retail environment (six months preferred).
• Previous work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Existing PTCB certification.
