About the role
Responsibilities
- Work with pharmacists to maintain high standards of client relations
- Assist pharmacists in technical aspects of prescription dispensing
- Prepare or compound extemporaneous products under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain and operate Outpatient Pharmacy services
- Handle inventory and supplies
- Manage operations of blister packaging automation
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work variable shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of practical and related experience
- Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service
- Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada
- Experience with Delta (Health Watch), Kroll, and Point of Sales Systems
- IV Compounding experience
- Experience with manual, out of province, and specialty medication billing
