Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties for pharmacy inventory control including purchasing, receiving, and processing invoices
• Manage barcoding, labelling, and related inventory management functions
• Replenish stock medication supplies for assigned areas
• Maintain and update inventory and pharmacy data in the computer system
• Complete required reports and documentation
• Assist in staff and patient training and educational functions
• Support workload measurement functions

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies and machinery

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of practical and related experience
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose systems and intravenous admixture services
