About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform technical duties for pharmacy inventory control including purchasing, receiving, and processing invoices
- Manage barcoding, labelling, and related inventory management functions
- Replenish stock medication supplies for assigned areas
- Maintain and update inventory and pharmacy data in the computer system
- Complete required reports and documentation
- Assist in staff and patient training and educational functions
- Support workload measurement functions
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies and machinery
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of practical and related experience
- Previous hospital experience with unit dose systems and intravenous admixture services
