Pharmacy Technician Program completion, Registration as Pharmacy Technician (Part A) with Ontario College of Pharmacists, Ability to manage competing priorities, Physical ability to meet job requirements
About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform technical aspects of prescription preparation, including compounding and dispensing, according to master worksheets
- Replenish medication stock supplies for assigned areas
- Maintain and update patient information within the pharmacy computer system
- Complete all required pharmacy reports and documentation
- Assist in staff and patient training and educational functions
- Support workload measurement and perform other cross-functional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent
- Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies and machinery
- Physical ability to meet the requirements of the job
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of practical and related experience
- Previous hospital experience involving unit dose systems and intravenous admixture services
