Pharmacy Technician Program completion, Registration as Pharmacy Technician (Part A) with Ontario College of Pharmacists, Ability to manage competing priorities, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Ability to troubleshoot technology/machinery

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical aspects of prescription preparation, including compounding and dispensing, according to master worksheets
  • Replenish medication stock supplies for assigned areas
  • Maintain and update patient information within the pharmacy computer system
  • Complete all required pharmacy reports and documentation
  • Assist with staff and patient training and educational functions
  • Support workload measurement and perform other cross-functional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies and machinery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of practical and related experience
  • Previous hospital experience involving unit dose systems and intravenous admixture services
