Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
• Process prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems
• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and sterile products, following hospital protocols and USP standards
• Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency
• Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
• Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
• Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
• Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
• Certified Pharmacy Technician
• Arkansas Pharmacy Technician license
• Proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Behavioral Health setting
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
