Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with serving patients and maintaining the pharmacy department
• Receive, verify, and process prescriptions electronically with high accuracy
• Select medications, measure dosages, and fill prescriptions per protocol
• Resolve issues such as rejected insurance claims
• Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking patients regarding their prescription needs
• Manage incoming and outgoing calls for orders and refills
• Greet customers and provide a caring service experience
• Sterilize equipment, stock medications, and monitor inventory
• Package orders and coordinate medication delivery or shipments
• Communicate with insurance carriers for payment claims
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and security standards

Requirements

• Fluent bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or completion of a pharmacy technician program
• At least one year of proven experience as a pharmacy technician
• Knowledge of medication/dosage calculations, pharmacy law, and medical terminology
• Strong organizational and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Micro Merchant pharmacy systems
• Experience serving diverse, multilingual patient populations in healthcare settings
