About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under pharmacist supervision
- Verify patient information, review laboratory values, and check orders for completeness
- Perform aseptic technique and handle hazardous drugs according to CARTI policies
- Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary equivalents
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering supplies, receiving medications, and checking for outdates
- Maintain accurate records for controlled drugs, temperature logs, and protocol drugs
- Perform daily cleaning of hoods and ensure proper disposal of materials used in mixing IVs
- Execute data entry and prepare medication labels using department automation
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and compounding
- Ability to perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory logs
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy setting
- Demonstrated experience with IV compounding
