Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under pharmacist supervision
• Verify patient information, review laboratory values, and check orders for completeness
• Perform aseptic technique and handle hazardous drugs according to CARTI policies
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary equivalents
• Maintain inventory control, including ordering supplies, receiving medications, and checking for outdates
• Maintain accurate records for controlled drugs, temperature logs, and protocol drugs
• Perform daily cleaning of hoods and ensure proper disposal of materials used in mixing IVs
• Execute data entry and prepare medication labels using department automation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and compounding
• Ability to perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory logs
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy setting
• Demonstrated experience with IV compounding
