About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Emergency Management pharmacy services across adult and pediatric service lines
- Manage daily operations for two 24/7/365 Emergency Department pharmacy satellites
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the clinic requisition service for over 400 onsite and offsite clinics and research laboratories
- Establish work schedules, training requirements, and staffing needs for the department
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy and regulatory agency standards, including quality assurance and billing
- Perform human resource functions, including interviewing, recommending, and managing staff
- Provide clinical leadership and instruct residents, students, and house staff
- Evaluate section operations and recommend organizational changes, policies, and procedures
- Serve as pharmacy administrator on-call on a rotating basis
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent
- Certificate of completion from a PGY-2 Residency in Health System Pharmacy Administration
- Current Michigan Pharmacist Licensure and Michigan Controlled Substance License (or eligibility to obtain within 60 days)
- 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree such as MS, MBA, MPH, or MHA
- Proven ability to collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals across clinical disciplines
