About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Emergency Management pharmacy services across adult and pediatric service lines
  • Manage daily operations for two 24/7/365 Emergency Department pharmacy satellites
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the clinic requisition service for over 400 onsite and offsite clinics and research laboratories
  • Establish work schedules, training requirements, and staffing needs for the department
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy and regulatory agency standards, including quality assurance and billing
  • Perform human resource functions, including interviewing, recommending, and managing staff
  • Provide clinical leadership and instruct residents, students, and house staff
  • Evaluate section operations and recommend organizational changes, policies, and procedures
  • Serve as pharmacy administrator on-call on a rotating basis

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Certificate of completion from a PGY-2 Residency in Health System Pharmacy Administration
  • Current Michigan Pharmacist Licensure and Michigan Controlled Substance License (or eligibility to obtain within 60 days)
  • 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MS, MBA, MPH, or MHA
  • Proven ability to collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals across clinical disciplines
