About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide integrated medication management services to hospital patients face-to-face and over the phone
- Educate prospective pharmacy patients on specialty pharmacy services and benefits
- Support medication adherence by performing refill reminder calls and securing prescriptions
- Resolve insurance-related issues including prior authorizations and financial assistance
- Coordinate with clinic teams, including doctors and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care
- Manage and update patient data using database applications and tracking mechanisms
- Identify medications requiring special storage, such as hazardous or refrigerated items
- Assist in developing new processes to improve operational efficiency and patient care
Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage administrative tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Nationally certified CPhT
- 3-5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Knowledge of transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease (including HIV), or oncology
