Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, accurate, and efficient care while building strong relationships with patients in a service-conscious pharmacy environment.
• Perform all regular duties of a Pharmacy Technician, including selecting and counting medication.
• Enter patient personal data, insurance information, and prescription details including calculations and directions.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by submitting online orders and assisting with physical inventories.
• Welcome and acknowledge patients with compassion and assist with processing orders in person or by phone.
• Comply with all company and pharmacy policies, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine regulations.
• Finalize sales using the cash register according to established point-of-sale procedures.
• Alert pharmacists regarding drug utilization reviews and resolve third-party insurance rejections.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program.
• Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
