Pharmacology Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design and execute technically challenging experiments using disease-relevant genetically modified mouse models
• Identify optimal methodologies including in vivo, ex vivo, and molecular biology/biochemistry to develop novel readouts
• Analyse complex datasets and communicate results clearly within the context of in vivo project strategy
• Collaborate with the In Vivo Pharmacology team and other cross-functional groups to enable project delivery
• Maintain accurate scientific records in compliance with internal and Home Office standards

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biology, pharmacology, or a relevant field with wet lab experience
• Expertise with genetically modified mouse models and in vivo techniques such as CRISPR, RNAi, or viral transgene expression
• Practical skills in small animal handling, dosing, and surgery
• Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques including qPCR, western blotting, IHC, and ELISA
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to deliver high-quality results
• Familiarity with the regulatory frameworks surrounding in vivo research
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
