About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with federal and California pharmacy regulations
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge as defined by the California Board of Pharmacy
- Maintain pharmacy licensure, permits, and regulatory documentation
- Act as primary liaison for inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries
- Oversee non-sterile compounding practices and quality assurance protocols
- Direct day-to-day retail pharmacy operations, workflow, and inventory control
- Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
- Provide direct patient counseling and medication therapy guidance
- Monitor pharmacy financial performance and operational metrics
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Active California Pharmacist License in good standing
- Eligibility to serve as Pharmacist in Charge under California Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Minimum 5 years of pharmacist experience in retail or compounding
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of California compounding regulations
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems like PioneerRx
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in non-sterile compounding
- Experience leading pharmacy inspections or regulatory audits
- Proven track record of operational improvement and compliance leadership
