Petroleum Inspector

Responsibilities

• Physically sample, measure, and take temperatures of vessel and shore tanks using API procedures.
• Calculate and report quantities of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon transfers and perform full reconciliation.
• Complete required reports and forms using proprietary SGS inspection systems.
• Coordinate with client representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel, and government agents.
• Maintain regular communication with business unit office staff regarding job status and concerns.
• Adhere to all company safety practices and the SGS Code of Integrity.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in English.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and kneeling.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of transferable industry experience.
• Completion of internal Inspector Development Program Level.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) Certification.
