About the role
Responsibilities
- Physically sample, measure, and take temperatures of vessel and shore tanks using API procedures
- Calculate and report quantities of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon transfers
- Perform full reconciliation of transferred cargo
- Complete required reports using SGS Ship Inspection Report (SIR) or Site Acceptance Test (SAT) systems
- Coordinate with client representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel, and government agents
- Maintain regular communication with business unit office staff regarding job status
- Adhere to SGS Code of Integrity and all company safety practices
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic proficiency in English
- Basic mathematical skills including fractions and decimals
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months to 2 years of transferable industry experience
- Completion of internal Inspector Development Program
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) Certification
