Personnel Security Specialist V

Responsibilities

• Conduct exhaustive security checks and analyze FBI investigative files to determine suitability for security clearances
• Perform critical analysis of sensitive security concerns to recommend granting, continuing, or revoking access authorizations
• Provide technical expertise and adjudication recommendations for highly sensitive and complex security assessment investigations
• Develop manuals, forms, and instructions to facilitate the operation of the FBI Security Program
• Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and advice to lower-grade specialists
• Coordinate with FBI Divisions on foreign nexus concerns and exploit intelligence for adjudicative determinations
• Prepare in-depth summaries of data and formal written analyses regarding security vulnerabilities and risks
• Evaluate reports of investigations and personnel files to ensure compliance with DOJ orders and FBI regulations

Requirements

• Active Top Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
• Technical training or certification as an investigator and/or adjudicator
• Bachelor's Degree
• 8+ years of experience in Federal Law Enforcement or 10+ years of experience in the personnel security field
• Demonstrated analytical ability to evaluate investigative reports and identify security vulnerabilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills for conducting interviews and preparing formal recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in any field of study
• Detailed knowledge of the FBI Security Program, including its goals, tenets, and procedures
• Extensive experience conducting sensitive, complex security matter investigations from inception to completion
• Experience establishing effective relationships with representatives from other Government agencies and the Intelligence Community
