About the role
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze investigative files to determine suitability for security clearances, reciprocity, and access to facilities
- Conduct Personnel Security Interviews (PSIs) to gather in-depth background details
- Prepare detailed Reports of Investigation (ROI) and draft summary sheets for assigned cases
- Examine material for potential security risks, including criminal conduct, misrepresentation, or sympathetic associations with hostile entities
- Conduct security briefings, including Security Awareness and Hostile Threat training
- Assist in the preliminary and final review of personal history statements and related data
- Perform database searches and verify information submitted on security questionnaires (SF-86 and SF-85P)
- Provide critical thinking and analysis to support complex research and investigative processes
Requirements
- Active Top Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
- 5 years of experience in personnel security investigative or investigative analyst fields
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience OR Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and writing Reports of Investigation (ROI)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Federal Law Enforcement (LE) and Intelligence Community (IC) IT systems
- Experience interpreting governmental and commercial database checks to identify security concerns
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of DOJ and FBI regulations regarding the personnel security process
- Experience conducting security briefings and discussing analysis in a concise, objective manner
- Thorough knowledge of indices systems and various record check processes
- Understanding of Federal Investigative Standards (FIS), SEAD, Executive Orders, and US CFR
