About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting
- Perform tasks delegated by an RN or RPN in compliance with the RHPA
- Communicate and demonstrate basic information in accordance with a patient’s pre-established Plan of Care
- Ensure a safe environment by reporting and documenting unsafe conditions or changes in patient behavior, physical, or cognitive status
- Complete and maintain accurate patient records and progress notes according to hospital policy
Requirements
- Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
- Physical stamina to handle daily mild to moderate physical exertion, including constant standing, walking, and frequent movement
- Strong computer skills
- Good attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
- Behavioral management training (such as PIECES, U-First, or CPI)
- Previous experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings
