Personal Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting
• Perform lifts, transfers, and other tasks as delegated by an RN or RPN in compliance with the RHPA
• Communicate and demonstrate basic information in accordance with a patient’s pre-established Plan of Care
• Ensure a safe environment by reporting and documenting unsafe conditions or changes in patient behavior, physical, or cognitive status
• Complete and maintain accurate patient records and progress notes according to hospital policy

Requirements

• Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
• Physical stamina to handle daily mild to moderate physical exertion, including constant standing, walking, and frequent movement
• Strong computer skills
• Good attendance record

Preferred Qualifications

• Behavioral management training (such as PIECES, U-First, or CPI)
• Previous experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings
