Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, PSW certification from a recognized college, Vulnerable sector background check, Basic computer knowledge, Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Assist with meal service, feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions and fluid intake
- Use proper body mechanics and mechanical aids like lifts and wheelchairs for client transfers
- Monitor and document clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive conditions
- Follow infection prevention protocols and health and safety regulations
- Support client participation in recreational and therapeutic activities to promote well-being
- Maintain clean and dignified living spaces by assisting with laundry and bed changes
- Communicate empathetically with clients and families while maintaining professional boundaries
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- PSW certification from a recognized college or educational institution
- At least 2 years of related experience
- Ability to undergo a Vulnerable Sector background check
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending
