Personal Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Assist with meal service, feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions and fluid intake
• Use proper body mechanics and mechanical aids like lifts and wheelchairs for client transfers
• Monitor and document clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive conditions
• Follow infection prevention protocols and health and safety regulations
• Support client participation in recreational and therapeutic activities to promote well-being
• Maintain clean and dignified living spaces by assisting with laundry and bed changes
• Communicate empathetically with clients and families while maintaining professional boundaries

Requirements

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• PSW certification from a recognized college or educational institution
• At least 2 years of related experience
• Ability to undergo a Vulnerable Sector background check
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending
