About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal support services to clients in their homes to assist with activities of daily living
  • Assist with lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, and skin care
  • Support clients with respiration, meals, drinks, and general hygiene
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with clients
  • Work independently in the community while managing time effectively to complete tasks
  • Accept direction from clients regarding specific service needs

Requirements

  • Completed 600-hour PSW Program meeting provincial or national standards
  • Minimum 6 months of PSW experience in the physical disabilities sector
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Ability to lift and transfer clients
  • Ability to travel between client appointments within the Toronto West community

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership with the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word)
