About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide essential personal support services including activities of daily living, lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, and general hygiene
  • Assist clients with meals, drinks, and respiration support
  • Manage time effectively in cooperation with clients to complete daily tasks
  • Work independently and cooperatively within the community to support client needs
  • Accept direction from clients regarding specific service requirements

Requirements

  • Completed 600-hour PSW Program meeting provincial or national standards
  • Minimum 1-year PSW experience in the physical disabilities sector
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Physical ability to lift and transfer clients
  • Availability for a minimum of three shifts per week (minimum 4 hours per shift), including at least one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Ability to travel between client appointments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership with the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word)
