About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide essential personal support services including activities of daily living, lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, and general hygiene
- Assist clients with meals, drinks, and respiration support
- Manage time effectively in cooperation with clients to complete daily tasks
- Work independently and cooperatively within a team to support male clients in the Henry Lane Supportive Housing Program
- Accept and follow direction from clients regarding specific service needs
Requirements
- Completed 600-hour PSW Program meeting provincial or national standards
- Minimum 1-year PSW experience specifically within the physical disabilities sector
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
- Availability to work three weekdays (Monday–Friday) and one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring clients
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership with the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA)
