About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical safety support for routine operations, project work, major maintenance, construction, and emergency response.
- Support the development, maintenance, and execution of safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
- Conduct safety program audits and analyze performance data to identify trends and propose corrective recommendations.
- Lead investigations for near-misses, incidents, and injuries to identify root causes and track implementation of preventative measures.
- Develop and present safety training materials in collaboration with Operations and Learning Development departments.
- Serve as a competent person for specific programs such as fall protection, excavation safety, and Life Critical work.
- Create safety communications for shift starter meetings, safety meetings, notices, and bulletins.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED with 6 years of relevant safety professional experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related area with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including respirators, and perform physical tasks in the field.
- Ability to work a 9/80 schedule, including on-call duties and support for Turnaround (TAR) as needed.
- Legal authorization to work in the US without future visa sponsorship.
