Personal Injury Attorney

Responsibilities

• Oversee a caseload of personal injury cases from initiation through resolution
• Conduct legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies to negotiate settlements
• Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and represent clients in mediation and arbitration
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to devise case strategies
• Stay updated on changes in personal injury laws and legal trends

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in New York State in good standing
• Minimum of 5 years of experience handling plaintiffs' personal injury matters
• Proficient litigation skills including drafting legal documents and courtroom appearances
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
