Personal Care Attendant

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with activities of daily living including feeding, ambulation, and toileting
• Meet participant personal hygiene needs such as bathing in a timely and caring manner
• Prepare and plate food following specific dietary instructions and preferences
• Observe participants for emotional, behavioral, or physical changes and report to nursing staff
• Maintain clean and orderly participant surroundings and care units
• Provide light housekeeping and homemaking services in the home when required
• Accompany participants to outside appointments as needed
• Collect and record participant care information accurately on appropriate forms

Requirements

• Completion of accredited vocational nursing assistant course or comparable participant care experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year experience working with the frail or elderly
• Valid CA driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Physical strength to assist participants with mobility challenges
• Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Previous experience with PACE or ADHC/CBAS programs
