Personal Banker in Training

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying financial needs and providing tailored advice.
• Conduct needs-based assessments to recommend solutions for everyday banking, retail investments, lending, and small business needs.
• Proactively engage with the community to generate appointments and build new customer relationships.
• Provide guidance on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance the customer experience.
• Make credit recommendations for personal lending and home financing in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Apply risk management frameworks to protect bank assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
• Collaborate with branch team members to achieve business objectives and ensure accurate data entry and compliance.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a consultative customer service or sales role.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completed registration to sell investment products (as appropriate for the jurisdiction).
• Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
• Working knowledge of retail investments, lending products, and small business customer needs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with digital tools, including tablets, smartphones, and online applications.
