Perioperative Services Assistant

Responsibilities

• Clean the surgical suite and equipment to ensure a functional environment daily
• Restock OR and anesthesia supplies before, during, and after procedures
• Support the clinical practice of the OR team in various settings, including cardiac care
• Assist anesthesia providers with the insertion of patient access lines
• Assist with the lifting and positioning of patients
• Perform daily quality control testing on OR equipment
• Transport specimens and blood products to and from the lab
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and risk management policies
• Serve as a preceptor for new Perioperative Surgical Assistants

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or equivalent) within three months of hire
• Medical Technician registration within three months of hire
• Ability to read, write, and understand labels and instructions
• Strong customer service skills
