Performance Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Profile and improve market data capture pipelines from NIC to application layer
• Implement kernel-level optimizations using eBPF, io_uring, and DPDK
• Optimize AWS EC2 network performance, including ENA drivers and placement groups
• Work in C for drivers and kernel interfaces and integrate with a Rust codebase
• Use profiling tools like perf and bpftrace to identify and validate latency bottlenecks
• Design experiments to isolate performance factors and interpret results statistically

Requirements

• Strong C programming skills and experience with Linux kernel interfaces
• Experience optimizing network performance in production systems
• Hands-on experience with eBPF, io_uring, or epoll
• Proficiency with Linux performance tools (perf, flamegraphs, bpftrace)
• Experience optimizing network performance on AWS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong problem-solving and statistical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in trading, finance, or other low-latency domains
• Familiarity with DPDK or other kernel bypass technologies
• Understanding of network protocols and packet processing
• Background with hardware performance counters and micro-architectural optimization
