About the role
Responsibilities
- Produce weekly analytics-driven game-plan and opponent tendency reports to support coaching decisions.
- Create repeatable data pipelines and dashboards using Tableau, Excel/Power Query, SQL, and modern data platforms.
- Develop sport-specific performance and scouting tools that integrate tracking technology data into actionable workflows.
- Operate and integrate advanced performance technologies such as Sportable, Trackman, and Kinexon.
- Maintain secure data streams for research, ensuring HIPAA compliance when handling medical and athlete data.
- Build and maintain analytics servers for basketball and football to centralize player development and scouting.
- Manage DXA scan reporting workflows to support athlete nutrition and body composition decisions.
- Design and maintain internal web platforms and automate data ingestion using Python and JavaScript.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Analytics, Sports Analytics, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- One year of applied experience in sports analytics, performance analytics, or athletic department business analytics.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Python and/or R, Tableau, and Excel/Power Query.
- Experience designing and deploying web-based tools or internal platforms (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Flask).
- Demonstrated experience integrating and interpreting sports performance technologies and data sources.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to executives and coaching staff.
- Ability to work extended days, nights, holidays, and weekends, including potential travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Analytics, Sports Analytics, or Kinesiology.
- Experience working directly with student-athlete performance data to drive team decision-making.
- Ability to deploy scalable websites and servers to consolidate complex data structures into user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience maintaining HIPAA and/or FERPA privacy standards with sensitive personal data.
- Familiarity with version control, documentation standards, and data governance practices.
