Performance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze thermodynamic properties of engines and identify functional limits and deviations
• Conduct engine and aircraft-related concept studies
• Perform performance analyses of operating aircraft engines and future engine concepts
• Work with system modeling and the development of methods and tools
• Analyze the interaction between engine and aircraft
• Participate in testing, verification, and evaluation of engine and flight tests
• Troubleshoot and solve problems related to engines in operation or maintenance
• Develop future engine concepts and complete engine systems
• Collaborate with disciplines such as aerodynamics, turbomachinery, mechanical design, and control engineering
• Support customers with technical questions regarding engine performance

Requirements

• Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience working with engines and aircraft
• Strong knowledge of jet engines/gas turbines and aerodynamics
• Experience in system modeling or tool development
• Ability to work structured and analyze complex systems
• Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience from the defense industry
• Experience from similar activities in industry or academia
• Programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Matlab, C++, Fortran)
• Experience with gas turbine simulation tools (e.g., Gasturb, NPSS, Proosis, Gestpan)
