About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive benchmarking frameworks spanning OS, kernel, and application layers
  • Profile workloads across CPU, memory, I/O, network, and accelerator subsystems to identify bottlenecks
  • Build and maintain automated performance regression-detection pipelines integrated into CI/CD workflows
  • Drive proactive performance improvements including kernel subsystem tuning and user space library optimizations
  • Optimize for AI inference and training workloads, including LLM serving and accelerator utilization
  • Tune performance for HPC workloads including MPI, OpenMP, and parallel filesystems
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to root-cause regressions in upstream kernel changes or library modifications

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Linux kernel internals (scheduler, memory, I/O, networking)
  • Hands-on expertise with profiling tools like perf, eBPF, Flamegraphs, VTune, or Nsight
  • Strong background in AI/ML workload performance and GPU/accelerator utilization
  • Experience with HPC workloads, MPI, OpenMP, and job schedulers like Slurm
  • Experience building automated performance testing pipelines in CI/CD environments
  • 15+ years of industry experience in systems performance engineering or OS development
  • PhD in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with open-source ecosystems and Linux kernel contributions
  • Background with cloud-native, containerized, or HPC computing environments
  • Familiarity with modern AI-first development workflows and LLM-based tools
