Performance Based Navigation (PBN) Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for aircraft integration and sustainment of PBN capabilities including RNAV, RNP, and GNSS approach capabilities
• Contribute to technology advancement in PBN to ensure military aircraft can navigate NextGen and international airspace
• Collaborate with external groups across NAWCAD/NAVAIR and coordinate with program offices regarding civil aviation mandates
• Assist in the development of Engineering Data Requirements Agreement Plan (EDRAP) inputs
• Support the review of flight clearances and PBN-related designs, appendices, and architectures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
• Active Secret security clearance
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles related to avionics and navigation systems
• Familiarity with PBN, RNAV, RNP, WAAS/SBAS, and Flight Management Systems (FMS)
• Understanding of civil aviation mandates, FAA regulations, and ICAO requirements
• Experience in the design, integration, or testing of navigation systems
