Performance Architect

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cycle-accurate C++ performance models for System IP components
• Analyze system performance using metrics such as latency, throughput, and power consumption to identify bottlenecks
• Create and execute benchmarks to characterize system performance and identify areas for improvement
• Build and maintain performance analysis tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional architecture, design, and software teams to implement optimization opportunities
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Work closely with CPU, GPU, and SoC architecture teams to ensure System IP meets performance and power requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 10+ years of experience, Master’s Degree with 8+ years, or Ph.D. with 6+ years of experience
• Expertise in performance modeling, analysis, and optimization for System IP components
• Strong C++ coding skills, specifically with cycle-accurate performance models and analysis tools
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, microarchitecture, and system-level performance optimization
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience in memory subsystems or interconnects, including knowledge of memory hierarchy and bandwidth optimization
• Programming proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, visualization, and automation
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and autonomous systems and their impact on System IP
