Perception Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of software engineers working on perception and perception autonomy projects.
• Oversee the development of perception pipelines utilizing EO/IR and Radar sensor modalities.
• Contribute to the Perception Autonomy service, including behaviors like camera scanning, object following, and track handoff.
• Lead the integration of pre-trained models into production perception pipelines.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust software for real-world deployment on hardware components.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to meet project milestones and ensure seamless system integration.

Requirements

• MS in Computer Science, ML, Robotics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of industry experience in perception-related fields (e.g., ATR, ML).
• 2+ years of experience leading teams with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience deploying software to hardware components with rigorous verification and validation.
• Experience with perception pipelines using real-time data from Radar and EO/IR systems.
• Proficiency in production-level development using C++ and/or Python.
• Experience designing and working with autonomous systems, particularly in off-road, maritime, or aerospace applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Perception, Robotics, or a CS-related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying autonomy in real-world environments.
• Deep experience in both hardware and software aspects of robotics and sensor systems.
• Competence in signal processing, linear algebra, machine learning, radar, optics, or photonics.
• Active U.S. SECRET clearance.
