PEP, Ingest Associate

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage recordings for newsgathering, entertainment specials, and live sports production.
• Ingest, convert, transfer, migrate, and back up digital media files across various platforms and devices.
• Perform quality control on incoming footage to verify successful ingest and ensure media is production-ready.
• Partner with producers, assignment desks, and technical teams to troubleshoot file-based ingest issues.
• Manage file imports from diverse sources including FTP sites, Zoom, Skype, and other digital gathering tools.
• Create screening exports and deliverables via online delivery methods or physical media.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a large media market or comparable production environment.
• Proficiency with both PC and Mac platforms.
• Strong knowledge of digital media workflows, transcoding, file conversion, and digital file delivery.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proven ability to remain calm and focused under tight deadlines in a newsroom or production setting.
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting audio/video levels to technical specifications.
• Experience verifying remote signal quality prior to air.
• Familiarity with non-linear editing (NLE) and scheduling tools.
